Neal Bishop keen to stay with Blackpool

Blackpool midfielder Neal Bishop admits that he would "love" to sign a new contract with the club.

Neal Bishop has admitted that he would "love" to sign a new contract to keep him at Blackpool for another season.

The midfielder has reached the end of his contract with the Championship side, but has opened talks over a new deal with the club.

The 32-year-old told the Blackpool Gazette: "I know it's odd to say it, but I really enjoyed last season. I love the place, I love the people and everyone has been fantastic since I joined.

"There were a few people who questioned me when I signed, but everyone has been first class. I'd love to be here next season. I know there is a lot of negativity around, but I love everything about the place.

"Everyone knows there was going to be big changes in the squad this summer. There were blatant gaps in the squad last season and I'm sure whoever comes in will be looking to address that quickly."

Bishop made 31 appearances for Blackpool during the 2013-14 season.
