Alessandro Diamanti signs five-year Bologna extension

Bologna confirm that Alessandro Diamanti will remain at the club until 2018.

Alessandro Diamanti has signed a five-year extension to his contract with Bologna.

The 30-year-old forward, who spent a year with West Ham United before joining Brescia in 2010, has scored 14 goals since arriving at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara two years ago.

Italian champions Juventus were believed to be weighing up an offer earlier in the summer, but the Italian international has now dispelled any rumours of an exit.

"Bologna have reached a mutual agreement with Alessandro Diamanti to extend his contract until June 30, 2018," read a statement on the club's official website.

Diamanti has scored one goal in 15 appearances for the Azzurri.
