Fabrice Muamba to be fitted with heart device

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba is to be fitted with a heart device in order to allow him to make a sensational comeback, according to reports.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba will reportedly be fitted with a heart device in order to allow him to make a sensational comeback.

The 24-year-old is still recovering in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest in the FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur in March, but he is expected to return home at the weekend.

The midfielder is having a mini defibrillator inserted in a minor operation before leaving the London Chest Hospital with a view to returning to training, according to The Mirror.

The minor surgery includes the device being fitted underneath the skin.
