Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba says that he wants to stay in football in "some capacity" after retiring earlier this year following his recovery from a cardiac arrest.

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba has revealed that he hopes to 'stay involved' in the game after being forced to retire earlier this year.

The 24-year-old was advised to hang up his boots for good after suffering a cardiac arrest, when his heart stopped for 78 minutes, during an FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Speaking at the Leaders in Football conference at Stamford Bridge, Muamba said: "I want to stay involved with football in some capacity."

Away from football, Muamba has begun promoting a campaign to teach school children emergency life support skills.
