Jurgen Klopp declares that he was delighted with Borussia Dortmund's performance in their 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has declared that his side deserved to beat Manchester City tonight due to their superior desire to succeed.

City crashed out of Europe with defeat to the Bundesliga holders, who won courtesy of a goal from Julian Schieber.

Klopp admitted that the victory in the Champions League gives him great personal satisfaction because of the quality of opposition.

He told UEFA.com: "I'm sure that City would have been capable of playing better if we had given them more room.

"We were really on top of things and didn't allow them too many clear cut chances. It was a great game and I'm really happy about it.

"The fans were great too and appreciated our performance."

Dortmund finished top and unbeaten of a challenging Group D which also contained league winners Real Madrid and Ajax.
