Benik Afobe: 'Bournemouth have given me a massive Premier League chance'

Benik Afobe says that Bournemouth have given him a "massive chance" by signing the striker from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Benik Afobe has claimed that an offer to play Premier League football with Bournemouth was too good to turn down.

The 22-year-old striker completed a move, thought to be worth around £10m, from Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Afobe began his career at Arsenal after joining the academy in 2001, but never made a Premier League appearance during his 14-year spell.

"This is a massive chance," Afobe said in Monday's press conference. "Since I was about six I've dreamed about playing in the Premier League. Eddie Howe has given me the opportunity and I'm looking forward to repaying him.

"There are always rumours but I let my dad, who's my agent, deal with all that and I just concentrated on doing my best for Wolves while waiting for a Premier League chance.

"I'd like to think I'll fit Bournemouth - the way they play is the way I like to play and hopefully I'll be in as soon as possible and scoring goals to help them stay up."

Afobe could make his debut in Tuesday night's clash against West Ham United.
