Eddie Howe: 'I'm really excited to see this Bournemouth team play'

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe reveals his excitement as his team prepare to get their Premier League campaign underway against Aston Villa.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has told of his excitement ahead of the forthcoming Premier League campaign.

The league's newcomers have made a number of new signings during pre-season, and Howe has insisted that he is raring to go as he bids to keep the Cherries in the top flight of English football.

"The build-up has been intense. It's been hard work in terms of training and off the pitch," Howe told Sky Sports News.

"I've signed some good players and made our squad stronger and I'm really excited to see this Bournemouth team play.

"[Lee] Tomlin and [Max] Gradel are key signings. Both are very creative and it is so important to score goals at this level. We will have fewer chances so we have to be more clinical."

Howe's charges begin the season with a home clash against Tim Sherwood's Aston Villa this weekend.
