Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels signs new contract until 2019

Charlie Daniels signs a new contract at Bournemouth until 2019.

Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels has put pen to paper on a new contract until the summer of 2019.

The 29-year-old has been a regular fixture in Eddie Howe's team since they secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history last summer.

Daniels, who has started 25 of the Cherries' 26 top-flight games, has committed the next three-and-a-half-years of his football career to the south coast club.

"Charlie has been a model of consistency for me this season," Howe told the club's official website. "He has been very, very impressive and really set the marker for us. Not only on matchdays but also in training. He deserves this deal and hopefully it's another step towards what will be a successful season for us.

"He has really elevated his game to a new level this season. That's not easy when you take into consideration the kind of wingers he is coming up against every week, but he has been at his peak physically and I believe that has really helped him. He deserves this new contract."

Daniels joined Bournemouth from Leyton Orient in 2012.
