James Hanson spares Bradford's blushes

Bradford City lose further ground in the League Two playoff race after drawing 1-1 at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Bradford City's return to League Two action against Dagenham & Redbridge tonight ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw at Valley Parade.

A quiet match burst into life on 48 minutes when Bradford were awarded a penalty kick for a foul on Luke Wilkinson.

Sam Williams stepped up for the home side but could only fire his spot kick wide of the target.

Dagenham made Williams pay for that miss 20 minutes from time when Luke Howell drove home from just outside the penalty area.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson threw caution to the wind in search of an equaliser, sending on strike trio James Hanson, Nahki Wells and Alan Connell.

Parkinson's gamble was rewarded seven minutes from time when Hanson fired in from close range.

Bradford could not force a winner late on as Wayne Burnett picked up a point in his first match as Daggers' interim manager.
