Jose Izquierdo granted Brighton & Hove Albion work permit

Jose Izquierdo is on the brink of finalising his £13.5m switch from Club Brugge to Brighton & Hove Albion after being granted a work permit.

Brighton & Hove Albion have been given the green light by the Football Association to finalise their club-record purchase of Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge.

The Seagulls recently reached an agreement with the Belgian club over the £13.5m signing of Izquierdo, subject to the striker being granted a work permit.

Confirmation has now been given by the governing body that the 25-year-old has met the conditions to ply his trade in this country, meaning that the transfer can officially be finalised.

Izquierdo has already passed a medical and agreed personal terms with Brighton, and will soon become their eighth signing since earning promotion from the Championship.

Albion have broken their transfer record three times this summer to land Mathew Ryan, Davy Propper and now Izquierdo.
