Sean Dyche hails "terrific" Burnley following Watford win

Burnley manager Sean Dyche praises his side's "terrific" performance during their 2-0 Premier League victory over Watford at Turf Moor.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has described his side's performance during their 2-0 victory over Watford this evening as "terrific".

Goals from Jeff Hendrick and Michael Keane saw the Clarets end a four-match winless streak to claim all three points at Turf Moor.

The victory takes Burnley on to seven points from six games this season - now level with Watford - and Dyche is pleased with the "solid start" they have made to life back in the Premier League.

"We've never lacked grit and determination and had the base of a performance. The lads were terrific tonight," he told reporters.

"I like to play 4-4-2 and attack teams but it was the right side tonight to get a performance. Whatever shape we play we need energy and pressing and tonight there were moments of quality. If you keep clean sheets you'll have a chance in games.

"Last time around in the Premier League we didn't concede many so we believe there's good organisation in the team and we need to be productive at the top end of the pitch. We've made a really solid start. We have added to the squad, we would have liked more but it's a tough market."

Burnley's upcoming fixtures see them face Arsenal, Southampton, Everton and Manchester United, while each of their next seven outings come against teams currently in the top half of the table.
