Burnley manager Sean Dyche has backed Andre Gray to prove his worth in a different way to former striker Danny Ings.
The Clarets lost Ings to Liverpool on a free transfer after relegation from the Premier League, and despite spending a reported £9m to bring in Gray from Brentford, Dyche insists that he was not signed as a direct replacement.
"We know Gray is raw and hungry, and he wants to develop and improve," the Burnley boss told reporters. "He'll blend into what we've got here and do well.
"He's a different kind of player. I never look for natural replacements, I look for players who will improve us and move us forward."
Gray made his debut in Burnley's 2-1 win over Bristol City last weekend.
