Malky Mackay hoping for positive response

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay urges his players to bounce back from their Carling Cup final defeat to Liverpool.

Malky Mackay has called upon his Cardiff City players to bounce back from their Carling Cup final defeat to Liverpool yesterday evening.

The Bluebirds currently hold a play-off position in the Championship with 14 games remaining.

Mackay is now keen for his squad to push on and secure promotion to the Premier League.

"I will give [the players] a couple of days off to relax and get over it and then go back in Wednesday, talk about it, park it and then we will get on with the other 14 games we have got this season because it is important we don't lose sight of that," Mackay told Sky Sports News.

Next up for Cardiff is a home fixture against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
