Keith Curle: 'No interest in Kyle Dempsey from Burnley'

Carlisle United boss Keith Curle insists that Burnley have not made an approach for midfielder Kyle Dempsey.

Carlisle United boss Keith Curle has played down reports linking midfielder Kyle Dempsey with a move to Burnley.

The Clarets are understood to be interested in the 19-year-old, who has scored five goals in 21 games so far this season.

Curle recently spoke with Burnley counterpart Sean Dyche over extending defender Tom Anderson's loan at Brunton Park, but he insists that no talks were held over Dempsey.

"I spoke to Sean Dyche last week about Tom Anderson and I'm sure if there was any interest in any of our players he'd have mentioned it then," he told talkSPORT. "I've had no conversations or approach so we can put that one down to rumour-mongering."

Carlisle continue their League Two campaign on Saturday when they make the trip to Exeter City.
