Newly-promoted Serie A side Carpi have announced the sacking of manager Fabrizio Castori.
The decision comes just two days after their 5-1 defeat at Roma, which has left them second from bottom in the Serie A table with two points.
Castori made history with the club by guiding them to their first ever promotion to the top flight, winning Serie B with a nine-point advantage over Frosinone.
"Carpi 1909 announce that they have sacked Fabrizio Castori," said the club on their official website.
"The hierarchy want to thank Castori for all of the work he has done, as well as his great professionalism and dedication."
Carpi, who are yet to record a league victory, are thought to be pursuing former Watford manager Giuseppe Sannino as a replacement for Castori.
