Santi Mina scores four goals as Celta Vigo thrash Rayo Vallecano 6-1 in La Liga.

Celta Vigo have thrashed Rayo Vallecano 6-1 in La Liga tonight, with Santi Mina finding the net four times.

Things were looking good for Rayo from the start as Manucho headed the ball into the net in the first minute.

Antonio Amaya then came close to scoring a second but his header was stopped by Sergio Alvarez.

Rayo's dominance did not last long though, and Joaquin Larrivey levelled the scoreline in the sixth minute, directing a first-time shot into the bottom left corner.

Mina gave Celta Vigo the lead in the 21st minute with a shot into the bottom left corner after Nolito's assist.

Nolito was causing the Rayo defence problems, but he was thwarted by Tono twice in succession.

Larrivey added a third in the 37th minute, scoring a rebound against his former club to give Celta Vigo a two-goal lead.

Mina added a fourth before half time, chipping the ball into the net after Michael Krohn-Delhi's pass.

Mina started the second half as he had finished the first, and completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute, heading in from Fabian Orellana's cross.

Yet another Mina goal came five minutes later as he slotted in from close range after Nolito's pass split the Rayo defence.

Celta appeared to ease off Rayo Vallecano in the closing 30 minutes, but Joaquin Larrivey still came close to grabbing his hat-trick in the 72nd minute when his shot went narrowly over the bar.

Alberto Bueno tried to pull a goal back but his shot was saved by Alvarez.

Orellana tried to add a seventh in the 87th minute but his shot from inside the area was saved by Tono.

The result sees Celta Vigo leapfrog Rayo Vallecano into eighth in the La Liga table.
