Preview: Celtic vs. AC Milan

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday's Champions League clash between Celtic and AC Milan at Parkhead.

The equation is simple for Celtic - lose against AC Milan on Tuesday night and their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League for the second season in succession are gone.

A draw would not rule them out completely, but it would mean that they would require a victory against Barcelona at Camp Nou to reach the last 16. In contrast, Milan can go a long way to securing the runners-up spot with a win in Glasgow.

Manager Neil Lennon will be without his captain Scott Brown, who is still suspended for kicking out at Barcelona's Neymar in the match between the two clubs at Parkhead last month.

However, the Bhoys should be able to welcome back James Forrest and Anthony Stokes, both of whom sat out Saturday's 3-1 win over Aberdeen because of a hamstring injury and personal reasons respectively.

Meanwhile, Stephan El Shaarawy has returned to training with his Milan teammates following a six-week spell on the sidelines, but the striker is not expected to start the game.

The Italian giants will be without defender Cristian Zaccardo and goalkeeper Marco Amelia, though, because of ankle and knee complains respectively.

These two sides have met on nine previous occasions, with Celtic only able to win once, while Milan have come out on top five times.
