Celtic boss Neil Lennon denies trying to court Premier League job offers

Celtic manager Neil Lennon denies issuing a come-and-get-me plea to Premier League clubs in a recent interview.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has refuted suggestions that he was trying to prompt Premier League clubs into poaching him in a recent interview.

The 42-year-old is believed to have stated that he wants to manage in the elite league at some stage, but the Northern Irishman has defended his comments.

According to the Evening Times, when asked if he was trying to court a job offer, Lennon replied: "No, absolutely not. You answer a question honestly, and people can construe it any way they like. I just think it is ambition, at the end of the day. My work is not finished here yet."

Lennon was appointed Celtic boss four years ago.
