Neil Lennon to fight Scottish Football Association charge

Neil Lennon is likely to appeal against the charge handed to him by the SFA.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted that he intends to fight the misconduct charge handed to him by the Scottish Football Association.

Lennon has said that he disagrees with the charge for "failing to behave in a responsible manner as an occupant of the technical area" and will be "defending" himself over it.

"I can't really talk about it at the minute but needless to say I will be defending my case as vigorously as possible," he told Sky Sports News.

"I don't want to say anything to prejudice the case against me. I'll speak to the club officials and lawyers and we will come up with a defence to defend myself as best I can.

"[The refs] are entitled to have a bad day but we are entitled to have an opinion on their performance as well. We will make a case and hopefully we will get what we deem to be the right result."

The offence occurred during Celtic's 1-1 draw with St Mirren.
