Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Madrid

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Chelsea will endeavour to dump serial Champions League winners Real Madrid out of the tournament when they welcome Los Blancos to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday.

The tie is delicately poised following a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Madrid, during which Christian Pulisic's opener was cancelled out by Karim Benzema's equaliser.

Thomas Tuchel's side head into this game following a 2-0 Premier League success over London rivals Fulham, as Kai Havertz netted a brace to boost their top-four hopes.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the second leg.

Mateo Kovacic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Former Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic missed the first leg due to a thigh problem, and Tuchel revealed that the Croatian had suffered a small setback before the visit of Fulham. Kovacic has now been ruled out of the second leg by Tuchel.

Mason Mount

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Real Madrid)

Mason Mount assisted Havertz's first goal against Fulham before going off in some discomfort with a suspected back problem. Tuchel does not think that the issue is too serious, though, and he hopes to have Mount available on Wednesday.

Antonio Rudiger

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Real Madrid)

Tuchel revealed that Antonio Rudiger picked up a minor head injury in the dying embers of last week's draw in Madrid, but the Chelsea boss is optimistic that his compatriot will make the cut this week, albeit with a face mask.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for the second leg.
