Cesar Azpilicueta: 'Schalke 04 will pose a different threat this year'

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has said that Chelsea are focused on getting three points against Schalke in the Champions League.

Cesar Azpilicueta has said that Chelsea are focused on getting three points against Schalke 04 in their opening Champions League Group G game tonight.

The two sides also met at the group stage of last year's competition, with Chelsea winning 3-0 on both occasions, but the Spanish defender has said that the German side will pose a "different" challenge this year.

"Last season the two games were good results, but this year is different and we start a new competition with the first game at home," he told the club's official website.

"We must do again the things that we did well, but it is a different situation in the season and we have to think just about this game, with the players that Schalke have at the moment, and try to get the three points."

Azpilicueta is in his third season at Stamford Bridge, and has made 59 appearances for the side since moving from Valencia in 2012.
