Frank Lampard limps off for Manchester City

Frank Lampard limps out of Manchester City's friendly against Hamburg with what appears to be a hip complaint.

Frank Lampard has lasted just 20 minutes of Manchester City's ongoing friendly encounter against Hamburg in Abu Dhabi.

The veteran midfielder appeared to be struggling with a hip complaint, which resulted in him being replaced by Scott Sinclair.

Although there is no official news as yet regarding the severity of the problem, it may rule the 36-year-old out of a return to his former club Chelsea when they play host to City at Stamford Bridge on January 31.

The ex-England international has scored seven goals from his 21 appearances for the champions so far this season.
