Chelsea: 'Owner Roman Abramovich backs Jose Mourinho'

Chelsea technical Michael Emenalo reveals that under-fire manager Jose Mourinho is not in danger of losing his job.

Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo has claimed that manager Jose Mourinho has the full support of owner Roman Abramovich despite the Blues' horrific start to the season.

The Premier League champions sit 16th in the table and 15 points behind co-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal after losing seven of their first 12 games.

Mourinho, who has enjoyed two spells at Stamford Bridge, has delivered three of Chelsea's four league titles, and Emenalo says that the Portuguese still has credit in the bank.

"Right now, the statement from the owner and from the board comes from a belief that we are in a position to trust a manager who has delivered so much," he told The Telegraph.

"We are in a position to trust a group of players who have delivered in the last couple of seasons.

"We are in a position to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel and therein lies our confidence... that we can get out of the situation."

The West Londoners, who have lost their last three league outings, host Norwich City on Saturday.
