Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says that he is yet to receive a phone call from Chelsea regarding the possible appointment of Maurizio Sarri.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has played down suggestions that Chelsea are on the verge of appointing Maurizio Sarri as the club's new head coach.

Sarri has already left Napoli with Carlo Ancelotti being brought in as his replacement, but the Serie A giants are still due compensation if Sarri takes another role before next summer.

Reports have suggested that Chelsea have made progress in their attempts to make a change in the dugout, but De Laurentiis has insisted that there has been no contact from the Premier League outfit.

De Laurentiis told Sky Sport24 that "the call from London has not arrived", before adding that "only time will tell" whether Chelsea will look to finalise a deal.

Chelsea are yet to make any signings this summer, but it has been suggested that Sarri would like to bring in four players from his former club.
