Guus Hiddink confirms talks with Chelsea after Jose Mourinho axe

Guus Hiddink confirms that he is in London to hold talks with Chelsea over the vacant manager's post after Jose Mourinho's departure on Thursday.

Guus Hiddink has confirmed that he is in talks with Chelsea over returning to the club as interim manager following the departure of Jose Mourinho.

Hiddink managed the Blues in a similar way in 2009 after Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked and led them to FA Cup glory at Wembley against Everton.

The former Netherlands manager was quickly installed as one of the favourites following Mourinho's exit yesterday and has reportedly been pictured in London today.

"I want to get some good insight before I make my decision," Hiddink is quoted as saying by Dutch publication De Telegraaf.

"Chelsea are in a bad situation and there are reasons for that.

"Whether or not I'm visiting their next match depends on my first conversation. Then I'll decide if I should stay in London longer."

If Hiddink does take over, he will inherit a side 16th in the Premier League with only four league wins this term.
