Gary Neville: 'Jose Mourinho's putting pressure on referees'

Gary Neville feels that Jose Mourinho is applying pressure on officials in the Premier League by claiming that there is a campaign against Chelsea this season.

Gary Neville believes that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is applying pressure on referees in the Premier League by suggesting that there is a campaign against his side.

The Portuguese was furious with referee Anthony Taylor for booking Cesc Fabregas for simulation when he was brought down in the penalty area by Matt Targett in his side's draw against Southampton.

Neville feels that the criticism is all part of a plan by Mourinho to ensure his side aren't subjected to the decisions later in the season.

He told Sky Sports News: "He has planted a seed for the rest of the season. He'll probably take a fine for that.

"What Mourinho has done today has said he's drawing a line in the sand and said 'I'm not accepting this anymore', letting the referees know this is unacceptable for the rest of the season.

"The campaign bit is him saying he's not having this anymore."

Chelsea remained three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, despite dropping two points against the Saints.
