Pat Nevin praises Chelsea balance

Former Chelsea striker Pat Nevin believes that Jose Mourinho's work in the transfer market has given the team a good chance of being crowned Premier League champions.

Former Chelsea striker Pat Nevin has claimed that the balanced nature of the current squad makes them favourites to win the Premier League title.

The in-form Blues are four points clear at the top of the table following an unbeaten start to the season.

Nevin believes that Jose Mourinho's work in the transfer market over the past six months in terms of both buying and selling has given Chelsea a great chance of being crowned champions in May.

"Unlike their title rivals, Chelsea have a balanced squad. Anyone can attract big names if they've got the money, but to get the balance right is the difficult bit," he told Goal.com.

"In these days of Financial Fair Play Mourinho has worked the transfer market really well. He got fantastic money for Juan Mata last season, and then David Luiz and Romelu Lukaku during the summer."

Chelsea continue their bid for the title on November 22 when they welcome West Bromwich Albion to Stamford Bridge.
