A leading bookmaker is said to have suspended betting on Rafael Benitez being the next Premier League manager to be relieved of his duties.

Bookmaker William Hill have reportedly suspended betting on Rafael Benitez being the next Premier League manager to be sacked.

The bookie took the decision after a large amount of money was believed to have been placed on the Spaniard being relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge at odds of 16/1.

Benitez only took interim charge of the Blues in November following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

However, under Benitez's guidance, Chelsea have exited the Champions League and are also 11 points behind league leaders Manchester United in the Premier League title race.

They were also almost embarrassed by League One side Brentford in the FA Cup yesterday afternoon, when only a late strike from Fernando Torres rescued a 2-2 draw for the European champions.
