The Chelsea board reportedly continue to have no intention of cutting short Graham Potter's time as head coach at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea head coach Graham Potter reportedly continues to have the full support of the club's hierarchy.

Since the takeover at the end of May, a consortium headed by Todd Boehly have embarked on one of the most aggressive financial outlays in the history of the sport.

As many as 15 players deemed ready for first-team football have been signed, with in excess of £500m being spent on transforming the first-team squad.

However, as it stands, attracting high-profile names and prospects to Stamford Bridge has not led to results improving on the pitch.

Chelsea are already out of both cup domestic cup competitions, albeit having been drawn away at Manchester City in each of the EFL Cup and FA Cup.

More notably, Potter's side have won just two of their last 13 matches in the Premier League, leaving the club 10 points adrift of the Champions League places.

While Chelsea can claim to be on a four-game unbeaten streak in the top flight, the last three fixtures have ended in draws, with just two goals being netted in total.

Nevertheless, according to The Athletic, Boehly and co continue to have no plans to remove Potter from the dugout.

The report says that the American and his associates remain committed to Potter in the long term and believe that he will eventually be a success in the role.

Potter will also not come under any extra pressure if Chelsea miss out on retaining a place in European football's premier competition for 2023-24.

Chelsea remain in this year's tournament and are currently preparing for the first leg of their last-16 tie with Borussia Dortmund, which takes place on Wednesday night.

In total, Potter has recorded nine wins from 23 matches in charge, seven of those games ending in defeat, and his win ratio is now below 40%.

That said, Chelsea's owners are allegedly encouraged that Mikel Arteta overturned a slow start at Arsenal before developing his squad into a team that have led the Premier League for much of this campaign.
