Maurizio Sarri has reportedly rejected a big-money offer to become head coach of Zenit St Petersburg.
The Italian coach, who has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, has turned down a contract worth £5.2m per year with the Russian outfit, according to The Sun.
Reports suggest that Sarri is a free agent, having parted company with Napoli after guiding them to second place in Serie A last season.
The 59-year-old, who is believed to have been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli, has been touted as the favourite to succeed Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, should Chelsea part ways with his compatriot this summer.
The report suggests that Sarri turned down Zenit's offer to clear the way for his move to Chelsea.
