Chelsea striker Fernando Torres believes Rafael Benitez did a good job at Stamford Bridge under difficult circumstances.

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres claims that Rafael Benitez has left the Blues a much better side.

Benitez's tenure as interim boss was a controversial one, with fans expressing their displeasure with the Spaniard leading their side.

However, after winning the Europa League with the club, Torres believes Benitez helped the team during a very difficult situation and made the team better.

"He came in in a difficult situation, personally, for him with the reaction of the fans and the team were not doing well at the time," Torres told reporters.

"It takes a bit of time to do better but after that, at the end of the season, the team was much better than at the beginning. He has helped the team, the team has been good. The players are better.

"I think he came to do a job and he did. He must be happy because he won a trophy with Chelsea."

Benitez is now likely to take over as manager of Napoli.
