Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola calls on his former club to 'sort their problems out' with head coach Antonio Conte, who he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has said that his former club must look to "sort" any problems with Antonio Conte.

The Blues head coach has suggested in the past that he has not been able to bring his desired transfer targets to Stamford Bridge, and with the club only sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table, speculation persists that the Italian will leave West London in the summer.

However, Zola wants to see his compatriot remain at Chelsea, claiming that the former Italy coach is an "asset" and one of the best managers in the world.

The 51-year-old told talkSPORT: "I think he is an asset for the club. He's a good coach, without doubt - he's actually one of the best around.

"At the moment there are certainly some problems. If the club and manager want to continue - and I think that will be good for the club - they should sort them out because the competition out there is so incredible.

"There is no league in the world where you see teams get so much better every year - it's so competitive off the pitch and on the pitch."

Conte has recorded victories in 62 of his 95 matches at Chelsea in all competitions, as well as winning the top-flight title last season.
