Chelsea to launch January bid for Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is reportedly a January transfer target for Chelsea.

Chelsea will reportedly make an offer to Atletico Madrid for the signing of defender Diego Godin.

The 25-year-old was of interest to the former Premier League champions last year, but they failed to secure his signature.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is said to be keen on the Uruguay international, which could result in the exit of defender Alex, according to The Sun.

The Portuguese manager is reportedly unimpressed with the Brazilian and is looking to offload him in the next transfer window, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur possible destinations.
