Chelsea will reportedly rival Liverpool to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes, with a £55m fee required for the player to move in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly set to rival Liverpool for the signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp's side were close to signing the player last summer, but he moved to Molineux for a fee of around £44m.

The Telegraph reports that the Blues are also interested in the 24-year-old, who is expected to cost up to £55m if he moves next summer.

The report claims that Nunes is just one name on Graham Potter's shortlist, that includes West Ham United captain Declan Rice, Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo, Everton's Amadou Onana and Benfica's Enzo Fernandez.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's number one target has been widely reported to be Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but the Reds are in need of several signings in the position since James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are out of contract at the end of the season.

The Portugal international has featured 17 times in the Premier League so far this season, contributing with one assist.
