Jose Mourinho confident of securing a work permit for Kenedy

Jose Mourinho is confident that Chelsea can secure a work permit to complete a deal for Brazilian teenager Kenedy, after the Fluminense man impressed agaisnt Barcelona.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is confident that the club can secure a work permit for Kenedy, despite the 19-year-old appearing not to have the criteria to qualify for one.

The Brazilian forward was given permission by his club Fluminense to feature for The Blues against Barcelona on Tuesday night and put in an impressive performance, which seems to have convinced Mourinho that he is worth bringing to the club.

The Portuguese believes that the Premier League champions will be able to get a work permit for the youngster to complete a deal worth more than £6m, despite the fact that he is yet to feature for the Brazilian senior team, something which is usually a requirement for a permit to be granted.

"We have conditions to get him a work permit because we want him," Mourinho told reporters.

"We don't want him to go out on loan, I think we have what the rules demand to get him a permit."

Chelsea have already brought in another Brazilian youngster this summer in the form of Atlético Paranaense midfielder Nathan, although they have since loaned him out to partner club Vitesse Arnhem.
