Chelsea are reported to be nearing a £9m deal for Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Marco van Ginkel.
The 20-year-old has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and the Daily Mail believes that new manager Jose Mourinho has assured him of regular first-team action.
Van Ginkel has been steadily introduced into the senior side with Vitesse and caught the attention of Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, who handed him his first cap in November.
He was a part of the Under-21 team that got to the semi-finals of the recent European Championships in Israel, but has reportedly been told that he must be playing regular first-team football if he wants to go to next year's World Cup.
Ajax are also believed to be interested, although Vitesse are said to favour striking a deal with Chelsea.
