Serie A leaders Juventus will reportedly target Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud when the January transfer window opens, with Rangers also thought to be interested.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is reportedly a January transfer target for Serie A champions Juventus, while he has also been linked with Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

The Frenchman played under Juve manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea last season and is said to be seen as a potential replacement for departed forward Mario Mandzukic.

According to the Daily Record, the 33-year-old striker has been told that he must play more regularly if he is to make the France Euro 2020 squad, and this has alerted his former coach Sarri.

The report adds that Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Marseille have been linked, while Steven Gerrard's Rangers were also identified as a potential destination for the former Arsenal man.

Gerrard denied that the club were looking at Giroud though, telling his press conference this week: "We are getting linked with some good players.

"I don't know anything about it, to be honest. If someone knows something about it, give them my number. That's the first I've heard of it. He's a good player, though."

Giroud has made just five appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League this season.
