Half-Time Report: Coventry City and Preston North End all square at break

Leon Clarke's goal cancels out a Tom Clarke opener as Coventry come from behind to level the scores against Preston at the halfway stage of their League One match.

Coventry City were forced to come from behind to level things up against Preston North End at the halfway stage of their League One encounter this afternoon.

The visitors broke the deadlock after just 10 minutes when Lee Holmes's corner was flicked on by Kevin Davies for Tom Clarke, who fired a volley past a helpless Joe Murphy.

Coventry were level again less than 15 minutes later, however, as Callum Wilson broke down the right flank before squaring the ball to Leon Clarke, who made no mistake with his finish.

Preston almost found an immediate response when Holmes found space to shoot just a minute later, but he dragged his shot narrowly wide.

The hosts came within inches of taking the lead just after the half-hour mark when Clarke rattled the crossbar from a free kick and Wilson fired the rebound over.
