Coventry City to appoint Tony Mowbray as manager?

Former Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray is close to becoming the next manager of Coventry City, according to a report.

Tony Mowbray is reportedly on the verge of becoming manager of Coventry City.

The Sky Blues have been looking for a new boss since parting company with Steven Pressley last week.

Dave Hockaday and Neil MacFarland have been placed in caretaker charge of the club in the wake of Pressley's departure.

Mowbray, who has been out of work since leaving Middlesbrough in October 2013, is thought to be interested in taking charge at the Ricoh Arena.

Coventry are close to appointing a new manager and, according to the Coventry Telegraph, that man will be Mowbray.

The Midlands club are currently 20th in the League One table, one point clear of the relegation zone.

Mowbray has also managed West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Hibernian during his career.
