Coventry City chase Dominic Samuel loan deal?

Reading's England Under-19 striker Dominic Samuel could join Coventry City on loan, according to reports.

Tony Mowbray has said that his Coventry City side are still interested in signing Reading striker Dominic Samuel on loan.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with the Sky Blues, where he scored six goals in 13 appearances.

"I have been speaking to Steve Clarke at Reading about Dominic who is going to go to Thailand where he'll assess how he's doing," Mowbray is quoted as saying by the Coventry Telegraph.

"Then he'll come back and if he's going to be the number five striker at Reading then he'll probably send him out on loan to us.

"If Championship clubs come in then they have a decision about the next step in his progression and can he do it in the Championship at the lower end. If they feel that team is not a competitor to them they might do that. Let's wait and see."

Samuel, who has three caps for England Under-19s, made his Reading debut in 2012.
