Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze will reportedly miss the next six weeks of action with a hamstring injury.

Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has reportedly been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The England international played 87 minutes in Palace's 1-0 win at Old Trafford against Manchester United at the weekend.

It was from Eze's cross which Joachim Andersen thumped home the only goal of the game, earning the Eagles their third Premier League win of the season.

However, despite there being no visible issues when Eze was substituted late on at the weekend, the Daily Mail claims that he will now miss roughly six weeks of action.

While being a huge blow to Palace, it will also bring great disappointment to the player, as he could now miss both of the remaining England squads this year.

Eze has already been ruled out of the upcoming squad, which Gareth Southgate will name in the next week, for England's games against Australia and Italy.

However, the six-week prognosis may mean that Eze will miss the mid-November international break too, where England will round off their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign against Malta and North Macedonia.

Malta were the opponents when Eze made his England debut back in June, and the 25-year-old also made a 20-minute cameo against Scotland last month.

For Palace, Eze is another name to add to the ever-growing injury list presented to Roy Hodgson.

Fellow attacking spark Michael Olise will not return until the end of the month after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season.

New signing Matheus Franca has not featured since signing for the club over the summer either, while another of their recent recruits, Dean Henderson, went off inside 20 minutes of his debut last week.

Midfield represents an area of great concert for Hodgson, with Jefferson Lerma and Naouirou Ahamada also absent in deeper areas.

Odsonne Edouard's recent injury issues meant that Hodgson had to name four players under the age of 20 on the bench.

It has also seen the likes of Will Hughes and Jeffrey Schlupp become regulars in the side, but with another injury now added to the equation, Hodgson is desperately running out of midfield options.

For the visit of Nottingham Forest next weekend, a start for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could be on the cards, should none of their injured contingent make a return in time.
