Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle has claimed that he is hoping to repay the faith put in him by Tony Pulis next season.
The 23-year-old admits that he had to be patient during his first Premier League campaign with Palace, but an impressive run of performances in the latter stages of the season has given him the confidence to set high targets.
"I've had to be patient," Gayle told the Croydon Advertiser. "I wasn't starting, but Tony has given me my chance at the end of the season, so I'm just happy with that.
"We're going to have to add to the squad in the summer and hopefully we can push on and finish in the top half of the table.
"Hopefully next season I can repay the faith Palace have shown in me and get a few more goals."
Gayle scored eight goals in 23 appearances for Palace this season.
