Lyall Gorman: 'Tony Popovic won't move to Crystal Palace'

Western Sydney Wanderers chairman Lyall Gorman dismisses reports linking coach Tony Popovic with a move to Crystal Palace.

Western Sydney Wanderers chairman Lyall Gorman has insisted that Crystal Palace have not made any kind of approach for coach Tony Popovic.

Palace are searching for a new manager after the departure of Ian Holloway, but Gorman has revealed that the former Eagles defender will not be making his return to England.

Gorman told TheAge.com: "It's all speculation, he's dismissed it, it's purely speculative.

"He's committed to the club and there has been no formal or informal approach."

The 40-year-old made 119 appearances at Selhurst Park between 2001 and 2006, while he was part of the backroom staff under former Palace boss Dougie Freedman.
