Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson: 'Wilfried Zaha brings an extra threat'

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says that Wilfried Zaha has added an extra threat to his side since the winger returned from injury at the start of October.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has said that Wilfried Zaha has boosted the Eagles squad since his return from injury last month.

Zaha spent much of the first part of the season on the sidelines with a knee problem, but the winger has helped Palace claim four points from games with Chelsea and West Ham United in recent weeks.

The attacker has been nominated for October's Premier League Player of the Month award, and Hodgson has acknowledged the contribution of the club's star man, who netted a last-gasp equaliser against the Hammers last weekend.

The 70-year-old told reporters: "Since Wilf's been back in training and back playing he's added something to the team, another dimension and an added threat.

"We really deserved to get something, often we were thwarted by an excellent goalkeeper. It was great to get that last-minute goal."

Despite the performances of Zaha, Palace still sit four points adrift of safety in the Premier League table.
