A report claims that Crystal Palace are in line for a £2m compensation payment from Everton if the Toffees appoint Sam Allardyce as Ronald Koeman's successor.

Everton have reportedly been informed that they must pay Crystal Palace £2m in compensation if they appoint Sam Allardyce as their new manager.

The 63-year-old is currently second favourite with most bookmakers to succeed Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park, behind Burnley boss Sean Dyche.

Should the Toffees turn to experienced campaigner Allardyce, however, The Mirror suggests that his former club Palace are in line for a hefty windfall.

Allardyce hinted in the summer that he was quitting Selhurst Park, where he spent just five months, because he intended to take a prolonged period away from football.

As part of the agreement, the same report claims that the ex-England boss is blocked from managing another club unless a compensation fee is handed over.
