Alan Pardew admits Crystal Palace are "overachieving"

Alan Pardew admits that Crystal Palace have been "overachieving" ever since he took over at Selhurst Park in January.

Alan Pardew has conceded that his Crystal Palace side have been "overachieving" for much of 2015.

The Eagles were in the relegation zone when Pardew took charge at Selhurst Park in January.

However, he guided the team to a 10th-placed finish last season, while this time around they are sixth and level on points with Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.

"I think we're overachieving, for sure," he told reporters during this afternoon's press conference.

"We have done for a large part of this year and I hope we can do for another four or five months. I couldn't be prouder of my playing staff."

On Boxing Day Palace will travel to Dean Court to take on Bournemouth.
