Result: England 1-0 Wales

England remain at the top of Group G after a 1-0 victory over Wales.

England have taken another three points after seeing off Wales at their Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley Stadium.

After 35 minutes of mixed possession, Ashley Young produced the only goal of the match, hitting home from a Stewart Downing cross.

Despite a rally from Wales in the second half the visitors failed to equalise, allowing England to remain at the top of Group G with 17 points. Meanwhile Wales are unable to qualify, remaining at the bottom of the table with one game won and four lost.

Next for England is a visit to Montenegro on October 7.
