Jacques Lambert of the France Euro 2016 committee says that UEFA president Michel Platini has not "lost the war" after his appeal to overturn a 90-day suspension was denied.

Jacques Lambert of the France Euro 2016 committee has claimed that UEFA president Michel Platini has not "lost the war".

Platini's appeal to have his 90-day suspension lifted was denied by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Friday.

The Frenchman was given the ban due to allegations of a "disloyal" payment made to him by outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Due to his suspension, Platini was absent from today's Euro 2016 press conference.

When asked if he was disappointed by the UEFA president's absence, Lambert told reporters: "Yes. He's been part of the organisation committee since the start. He may have lost this battle, but he hasn't lost the war."

Blatter has also been suspended for 90 days amid allegations of widespread corruption in FIFA.
