Leighton Baines 'excited' to work with new Everton manager Ronald Koeman

Leighton Baines says that he is excited to work with new Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

Everton full-back Leighton Baines has claimed that he is looking forward to working with new manager Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman was appointed as Roberto Martinez's successor on a three-year deal on Tuesday.

Koeman spent the last two seasons in charge of Southampton, but was convinced to join the Toffees after holding talks with chairman Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

"He instantly commands your respect on many levels," Baines told Evertontv. "The thing for us as players is the excitement of getting to work with him and enjoying the training sessions.

"Everyone speaks really highly of him, so it's great for us as players to have someone like him to work with."

Koeman's first Premier League game in charge of Everton will be against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on August 13.
