Everton midfielder Gareth Barry has insisted that he and his teammates will have "no excuses" not to perform better next season.
Roberto Martinez's side slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.
As a result, the Merseyside outfit rounded off their campaign in the bottom half of the table in 11th place.
Next season though, Barry believes that not having Europa League football will benefit Everton's domestic campaign.
"We need to come back in pre-season firing," the Liverpool Echo quotes Barry as saying. "We need to enjoy a good pre-season and then hit the ground running when the Premier League season starts.
"We have no excuses next year with European football and players being tired. We need to start well and go from there."
Out of 38 league games this season, Everton recorded 12 victories.
